Tests in 2 restricted areas completed

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises and enforcement operations for the restricted areas in Kennedy Town and Shek Kip Mei finished today with no confirmed COVID-19 cases found.   It made restriction-testing declarations last night, requiring people within the two specified restricted areas to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.   The areas covered Block A, Hoi Tao Building in Kennedy Town, and Wing Chak House, Chak On Estate in Shek Kip Mei. Around 195 residents in Kennedy Town and 916 residents in Shek Kip Mei were tested.   In the subsequent enforcement operations, a total of about 480 people’s test records were checked. A compulsory testing order was issued to 21 individuals who were found to have not received mandatory testing.   The 68 households that did not answer the door are urged to contact the Government promptly to arrange testing.   According to the compulsory testing notices issued yesterday, people who had stayed in either area for more than two hours during the specified period must get tested no later than tomorrow even if they were not in the areas when the declarations took effect, the Government added.
