CE to visit Mainland cities

Chief Executive Carrie Lam will lead a government delegation to Chengdu, Chongqing and Xi'an from tomorrow to September 28.   Mrs Lam will depart for Chengdu from Shenzhen tomorrow to attend the High-Level Meeting & Second Plenary of the Hong Kong-Sichuan Co-operation Conference the following day and the 2021 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation Chief Executive Joint Conference on September 24.   During her stay in Chengdu, she will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of various provinces and a region. Chief Secretary John Lee and Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang will join the visit.   The Chief Executive will head to Chongqing on September 24, where she will meet the city's leaders and conduct visits.   She will travel to Xi'an on September 26 to attend the 14th National Games closing ceremony the next day and join its flag handover ceremony with leaders of Guangdong and Macau. Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui will participate in the visit.   Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong via Shenzhen on September 28.   Financial Secretary Paul Chan will be Acting Chief Executive during Mrs Lam and Mr Lee's absence. Mr Lee will then act as Chief Executive upon his arrival in Hong Kong until Mrs Lam's return.
