7 imported COVID-19 cases identified

The Centre for Health Protection said today it is investigating seven additional imported COVID-19 cases involving patients who arrived from Lithuania, Pakistan and Turkey.   As Emirates flight EK384 from Dubai and Bangkok on August 22 had five passengers on board confirmed infected with COVID-19 upon testing on arrival, the Department of Health has prohibited the landing of the airline’s passenger flights from the two places from today to September 6.   Meanwhile, the centre reminded specified people linked to Sea View Mansion, 82-87 Connaught Road West and Block 1, Bo Shek Mansion in Tsuen Wan to undergo testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.   A total of 47 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days. One is a local case with an unknown infection source, another is import-related and the rest are imported.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government’s dedicated webpage.
